TRANQUIL MOMENTS
Tranquil moments come and go in life’s exhaustive race
We must take the time to capture them and stare them in the face
They’re very beneficial if we’ll only take them in
Like a shutter on a camera which works inside the lens
Do we take the time to savor that first sweet-smelling rose?
It is perhaps the reason that the Lord gave us a nose
How often do we linger watching leaves float to the ground?
When the golden, autumn treasures all around us do abound
At the seaside do you listen when the waves come crashing in?
Or are you often deafened by the traffic’s noisy din?
Do you ever get away from the daily hassles of your life?
Do you spend some tranquil moments with your husband or your wife?
And how about your children…do you take some time with them
To enjoy the tranquil moments and just cuddle on a whim?
When’s the last time you had ice cream and just enjoyed each bite?
Forgetting about the calories, and your figure’s constant fight
Have you lounged beside a fire and devoured a good book?
Or listened to some music while you romanced the cook?
We aren’t getting any younger…we live and then we die
So I challenge you to not let tranquil moments pass you by
Grab a swing and feel the breezes as they rustle through your hair
Revive those childhood memories when you didn’t have a care!
Soak in a tub of bubbles and feel the tension leave
Free your mind… let go of troubles…just sit back and breathe
And then put on your pajamas…grab your Bible and just read
I suggest the Psalms and Proverbs…hope and wisdom we should heed
Ok now you’re set for bedtime…peaceful rest is on its way
And in those tranquil moments….don’t forget to pray!
