Heaven Giveaway Winner...and my Crazy Day...and Six Words

First off I want to say Congratulations to Karen over at "On Having Faith" She is the winner of my giveaway. I will be sending her the
Randy Alcorn book...Heaven.

Please stop over and visit Karen today, she has a wonderful post called Miracles! And it is very encouraging.

Now I will share a little bit about my crazy day! I got in the shower this morning to get ready for my day, and then when I started getting dressed I thought I might wear some capris because it was going to be 77 degrees today. So, as I put my pants on I looked down and saw that I had only shaved ONE LEG! Have you ever done that? ((smile)) I didn't have time to remedy that because I had an appointment at the dentist, so I just grabbed some long jeans and hurried on my way.

I don't know about you, but I HATE going to the dentist. I mean I don't mind getting my teeth cleaned or just getting x-rays, but I get all tense when I have to have work done. So, anyway, I sat in the chair for an hour and 15 minutes and it wasn't really all that bad, I had to get a filling and my dentist is pretty gentle, but I don't like how long ya stay numb and when ya talk your lip pulls to one side! But even though I felt like Elvis with my lip all curled up on one side, I stopped at my friend's little Antique store and visited with her for awhile. She's so sweet she tried not to notice how weird I looked! I bought a couple of things from her and decided I might just stay out for awhile and enjoy the wonderful weather.

After I left there I did a little bit of shopping in some of the gift shops here in town, and that was fun, but then I decided to stop in our brand new Goodwill to see if there were any little hidden treasures that might be calling my name! I didn't find too many so I thought I would just go on home.

I grabbed my bags from the car and headed in through the garage door that leads into my laundry room,...and BOOM!...I fell flat on my face since my hands were full and I couldn't catch myself. I had caught my crocs flip flop on the door jam! My husband wasn't home and I couldn't tell how bad I was hurt, so I just laid there for a little bit to assess things. It makes ya feel so cluxie...is that a word? My big toe on my right foot was really hurting, and both knees hurt, and I scrapped my left arm on the door frame as I fell, and jarred everything, cuz I fell so hard.

After a bit I crawled over and pulled myself up in the doorway to the kitchen and grabbed an ice bag from the freezer, then I hobbled into my bedroom and laid down with the ice bag on my toe until my hubby came home and could give me some attention. ((smile))

That's why I am so late posting this blog today,...I have just been waiting to feel better. I think I might have some bruises tomorrow, but I am ok except for my toe.

I think all of us have crazy days once in awhile when we just don't feel on top of things,...problem is I have way more than I used to! Ha!

How was your day? I hope it went better than mine. ((smile))

Anyway Karen,... I hope you will enjoy the Heaven book. And to all of you who entered by leaving a comment,...thanks so much. Maybe you will be the one to win my next giveaway. I love you all!

Oh no! I'm glad you were okay for the most part! One time, I was walking through the kitchen and I thought lightning had struck me or something. All of a sudden I was flat on my back and almost knocked out....it ends up I had left the top pantry door open and ran right into the corner of it, hard! It just comes out of nowhere, huh?! Thank goodness you didn't break anything! Congrats to the winner of the book...I am enjoying reading mine right now.

Oh no! Poor momma! I hope your toe is just bruised. Do you have arnica cream? I wouldn't live without that stuff. It would have been wonderful to rub on your toe.

Hope you sleep well and don't get too stiff from the fall.
Love,
Lynnette

Oh Linda, I am sorry about your fall. Sounds like something I would do! I think I have probably broken every one of my toes a few times each! I pray you are feeling better today.

Thanks again for the book. I am so excited to read it. I have been wanting to get this book for a while.

Blessings,
Karen

Well thank God you weren't hurt more seriously! Could you imagine having to explain to everyone in the ER why only one leg was shaved???

Enjoy your weekend!!!

Ahhhh, what a lousy!!! I have fallen in my own home so many times...it's always nice that at least there are generally no witnesses!! I sure hope you aren't feeling it "more" today!! and that the toe is NOT broken!! Remember when I totally broke mine running thru my house to answer the door??? I love you!!! Will pray for no more pain!!

Oh my! Nothing worse than trippin and fallin! Been there...done that! What's worse is someone seeing you trip and fall. UGH! And toes are so sensitive. HOpe you are resting and healing fast.

Congrats to the winner of the book.

My six words:
"Trying my best to enjoy it!"

Hugs from Texas!

If you don't like being numb, you might try bypassing the painkiller. I don't use it (allergic to it), and neither does my son Doah (gets scared by the needle). If your dentist is gentle and knows where nerves are located, it really is not all that painful. Just a thought!

Congratulations to the winner!

I hate going to the dentist too and I've had work done all summer (5 crowns). I have to take some valium before I go - it's that bad!
Then I'm no good for the rest of the day.

Linda, I normally start decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving as I don't do the whole Black Friday thing. But this year I'm going to start early because I always feel rushed and I'm making some presents and decorations this year. Normally I start fall decorations when it starts feeling like fall to me which could be September or October (but I don't do a whole lot of fall whereas I do a whole lot for Christmas).

Dearest Linda,
First off congrats on your 100th post and successful blogging. It's been fun getting to know you through blogging!

Ouch! I'm so sorry you took a spill. Hope you are feeling better today. Getting jarred like this can be aweful. You feel it in your entire body. Advil time.
I hope nothing else from the fall gives you pain.

The weather this week-end was beautiful and we had a lovely week-end in St. Louis. Looking grey and cooler today. I wish it stayed 75 degrees for months on end.

Even Elvis fell down,

You poor thing - dentist and a fall all in the one day! I hope you've recovered with some tender husbandly care.

Linda, I'm so sorry being late getting back to you about your request for a copy of a photo. If you'd like to email me at the address on my profile I'll gladly send you a jpeg of it if that would be easiest for you.

Hope you are feeling all back to normal again. Taking a fall is never fun.

Why is it when we do fall we always look around to see who if anybody saw what happened to us?

Hope your week is getting better every day!

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad you weren't really hurt!

I did laugh when you said you forgot to shave one leg. We can do some silly things when our minds are on vacation. hahaha I've had my share!
