Organic Summer Peaches at Fresh Market

I had delicious organic peaches for breakfast...with some sliced up organic bananas! Oh yummo...I enjoyed every bite!

Yesterday my husband and I went to the new Fresh Market in Wichita. I was delighted to see their huge fresh produce section! I had been craving fresh peaches, but I wanted organic, since conventional peaches are one of the most heavily-pesticide-sprayed fruits, and I am very sensitive to chemicals. I had looked other places, and either they didn't have any...or they were not anywhere close to being ripe and juicy. So I was delighted to come across these at Fresh Market.

Don't you love a fresh juicy peach in the summer? I am so glad I finally found some.

I wish we would get a health food store here in our smaller town. We do have a Dillons with an organic section, but they don't have a huge variety, so I have to drive several miles if I need something that they don't carry. I know that it costs more to eat organic...but I have several food allergies and sensitivities, and so I feel it is necessary.

I am thankful for all that we do have available in our town. And I really like Dillons for most things. We were blessed to get a new Dillons Marketplace not long ago, and I love having it close by. But Wichita has a Natural Grocers, and a Fresh Market, Whole Foods, as well as several other health food stores. We usually visit them when we have additional stops to make in Wichita, to save on gas.

So, I will certainly enjoy these Fresh Market peaches...and the fresh organic veggies I bought to juice. I am thankful for the bounty of delicious food that God has given us. How about you?

Our Grandson Jonas Turns 9! And William Turns 17

This is Jonas! He is such a great kid! He turned 9 yesterday!

And this is William, and he will turn 17 tomorrow!
Here he is now with his hair all buzzed off for summer. What a difference a year makes!

We sure love these guys.

Last year for their party we had a Magic Show. Here are some pictures from last year.

We probably won't be able to top that this year. Thinking about going to the bowling alley for some fun and games!

Happy Saturday everyone!

I Have A New Great-Great Niece!

My Great Nephew and his wife had a baby daughter today!

Her name is Aubrey!

This news made me very happy!
God is in control, and He gives new life.

Yesterday I was sad because a special friend had to say good bye to her sweet 5 mo. old baby girl Keira. It is so very hard to understand why babies get sick and die. It hurts so very much. I don't think we will ever totally understand things like this...but I know the Lord is good...and He loves us. He allows things for His purposes and His ways are higher than our ways and His ways are past finding out...until we get to heaven. Maybe He will show us why when we get there.

Here is a picture of sweet Keira who went to be with Jesus yesterday.

So, in just a couple of days I have experienced a great sadness and a great happiness...both because of news about babies. Please rejoice with me over Aubrey's birth and please pray for Keira's parents, and her 4 yr. old brother Micah, as they face this great sorrow.

And always trust in the Lord, who made heaven and earth...and who is Lord over all.

Love, Linda

This Ole Gal Just Had A Birthday!

Yesterday was my birthday, and I turned 62 years old. I'm owning it ok? You see, two years ago when I turned 60, I had the hardest time accepting it! I know it sounds kinda stupid...cuz ya can't really do anything about it...but I just did not wanna turn 60!

You see, I am really still a little girl at heart! On the inside...in my spirit I still feel young. See some of my dolls in the background? I mean I still love dolls, and teddy bears, and all things "girlie". But my body sometimes just doesn't feel young at all. If I get down on my knees to clean something it is sooo hard to get up! It is hard to clean the things up high too, and I am unsteady on ladders. So, my husband has let me get a cleaning lady to come and help me with the hard stuff once a month. And that has been a blessing. (She is a wonderful Christian gal who happens to be one of my daughter's very good friend.)

Turning 62 does have one benefit...I got to sign up for my social security! So it ain't all bad! (:>)

All kidding aside...I spent my birthday counting my blessings and thanking God for all of them. God is so good! I have a wonderful husband, and three beautiful daughters who have filled my life with love! I love their spouses too...and I also love all 11 of my sweet grandchildren who range in ages from 5 to almost 22. We also have grandchildren in heaven. By God's grace I have made it this far, and I am looking forward to each day of my future with Christ!

I also have many wonderful friends and extended family members who brighten my life! And I can't forget my blogging buddies! Have a blessed day sweet blogging friends!

In His Love,
Linda

Happy Saturday

Happy Saturday

Saturday is a happy day…a day that families can be together...
To work, and to play, to go out for the day…and to simply enjoy the good weather

But first meet at the table in your pajamas, and robes, bare feet, bad breath, messy hair...
Read a Psalm for the day, then a Proverb, and pray, as mom makes breakfast with care

Make a list of the projects you’d all like to do, and add in some time for the leisure...
Soon the chores will be done, since you did them as one, and now you can take time for the pleasure

After a day like this, of hard work, and then play, you can come home for a nice family dinner...
Play some games at the table, do your best with each one, as you each strive to be the big winner!

Pop some popcorn, watch a movie, take your baths, go to bed…
early enough to get up for church the next day...
And just before bed, fold your hands, bow your head...giving thanks for a great Saturday

You’ll be blessed as you worship together as one, as a family that wants God’s very best...
Yes, if your Saturdays are good, ending your week as you should…then Sundays can be a day of rest…

Now doesn’t this sound good…are you treating Saturdays as you should? Or are you all running off in different directions?

A family should pray…and plan to make Saturday…a day to share lots of love and affection!

Happy Saturday!
