Isn't Meg Ryan's Hair Cute?

My hair has been short most of my adult life...but for the last 7 months I have been growing it out. The problem is...I have no idea what to do with it...or what look I am aiming at! I saw these pictures of Meg Ryan's hair and thought it was a cute style...and my hair is just about this length...so I tried curling it and trying to make it look similar. WELL...She is young, and I am old...she is thin and I am not...she is blonde and I have dark hair with a lot of gray in it...she has thin hair and I have thicker hair (except on top where it is thinning)...she has a thin face and I have a full face...and the list goes on and on! (:>) So, I guess this just ain't gonna be possible! Sigh!

I am just on the verge of doing something...and it may be drastic...but I am just sick to death of my hair and I just NEED a change. Next month I am turning sixty and I think that is part of my problem...I am feeling old. I know I should just be happy with myself and thankful for how blessed I am, with my wonderful husband, loving daughters, and all of my wonderful 11 grandkids...and I am truly thankful for all the Lord has given me. I am just needing a lift.

Sooo, we shall see. My friends and family have given me some ideas..but I just can't quite decide. I have so many allergies that I have avoided hair dye up until now...but I am tempted to risk it.

Stay tuned...I may be sorry...but I think I am going to do something...even if it's wrong! (:>)

I can't wait to see it! You have a beautiful spirit, which is precious in the eyes of the Lord- and THAT is what makes you lovely both inside and out. The way you bless others and are constantly cheering them up shines brighter than the most attractive hair cut ever could. I know it because you have blessed and cheered me often since we have been friends! (Although, it is fun to play around with our hair, isn't it?!)

I know what you mean Linda. First of all, I love Meg Ryan. She is adorable and I wish I looked just like her. :)

I look forward to your final decision on this very important issue. I'm getting tired of the same old hairstyle myself. I'm 57 and like shoulder length hair but don't want to look like I'm trying too hard to look young. I hope you understand.

Blessings and love,
Debbie

Why is no one every happy with their own hair (me include). If you want my opinion, I think you and your hair look great in your picture.

I always love Meg's hair. I can totally relate to this post. My hair never looks like I would like it to...never turns out like the pic in the magazine...sigh.

I really like your hair in that picture, though! =)

Love to you...

I think Meg Ryan would look good in a butch! No not really but I can't think of a time when her hairdo didn't look good on her. When I'm feeling tired of my old look I just go on-line and search hair styles until I find a couple of maybe's then I take the pics in and ask the hairstylist what they think. Do you have someone you go to regularly that knows your hair? If they're honest and they think it would work with your hair texture then maybe they can show you how to get that same look.
I think that is an adorable style and I think it would look good on you as well.
happy hairstyle hunting,

My mom and I have a theory when it comes to hair cuts. It will grown back. And since I have had about every hair color under the sun (including a month long stretch of hot pink that was only suppose to be three or four whispie strands that the stylist did um half of my hair and I looked like a clown) I say go for it! Sometime we need to have a little of bit of fun. Hair included!!

Linda,
May you have a terrific Birthday!!!! Happy wishes to you ahead of time.

I have had a hard time getting a style that I could work with. I looked like I crawled out from under a rock. The humidity and hormones had their way with me.

I went in and had it cut chin length and the stylist put mousse in it then scrunched my hair as she dried it...so I tried it at home and it came out really curly instead of frizzy...maybe...just maybe I will be able to recapture what the beautician did.

Grey is pretty!

What a funny post! Reading about you comparing yourself to Meg Ryan was too funny!

I know what you mean about needing a change. Especially when you have a big birthday coming up. I'm sure whatever you decide, you will look lovely. You look lovely in that picture you posted!

Meg Ryan would look great in curlers! That girl is just too adorable!

Well, you are beautiful no matter what hairstyle you have on. :) Maybe it's at an in between stage and you just need to wait it out a bit. I went through that when growing my hair out. Have the combs worked for you?

Well, I say just keep working with it and trying new things and eventually you'll figure something out that you like!

I think you should consider letting it continue to grow until it's about shoulder length. Then you could put it up or curl it. T'would be fun!

Love you beautiful momma.

I'd say go for it whatever you think you might like.

A number of years ago, I cut my long locks off and went short....Shorter then most people, but I dearly love the fact that it is so easy to care for.
And yep, I use dye too...Nice and Easy and do it myself.... I had been using my natural color, but one day they didn't have it so I picked up the one next to it that was the same number just had a A behind it..... I got the red (actually golden brown), and love it. SO, Linda dear, I say go for it.... do something different
if that is what you desire.

We will love you regardless!
Blessings.

I think you should go for the Meg Ryan haircut. Honestly, I think it would work! After I had my twins I drastically cut my hair; I finally came to the conclusion that it's just hair - if I don't like it, it'll grow back, and I can just wear it in a little nubby ponytail until it does! (I loved it, though). Go for it!

Linda you are beautiful! I would have NEVER guessed that you were 60 to be quite honest with you. You are WAY to hard on yourself woman! I can't wait to see your new look though! Have you ever thought of playing with hair color?(Not that you need it, but that is what I do when I'm looking for a change. :)

Oh, and I have always loved all of Meg Ryan's looks. I actually have taken her pic to the salon with me to get a cut like hers. I must say though that her hair never looks the same on me either!

Hi Linda, I saw this post back in July and wanted to check back to see what style you decided on. I'm sure it's looks great because you're a beautiful person. I hope your mother's surgery went well and I will remember her in my prayers. I lost my mom July 10th and it has been a very hard summer but God is good and I know she is with him and I will see her again one day. Will be checking in with you again soo.

Praying,
Kim

Linda,

The antique store that we were sitting in front of was Millcreek Antique's in Paxico Ks. It is 10 miles to the East of Alma on I-70 heading towards Topeka.

There are several other antique stores in this little town. It is a real treat, only I think it is a nicer treat when it is not HOT outside. There is also a little deli next to Millcreek Antique's so that you can grab a bit to eat if you are making it for an allday shopping moment!

Have a wonderful day! Stay cool :O)
