Please Pray For My Brother Dan!

This a picture of my handsome younger brother Dan with my grandson Jared. (This is a few years back...I need more pictures of him!) Dan is 58 now and is facing Heart Surgery today. He will have a 4 or 5 by-pass this afternoon. Poor guy!

Wednesday evening he had a heart attack and also found out he is diabetic, and has high blood pressure and high cholesterol issues. Needless to say he will have to make some major life-style changes. Please pray that he will make it through the surgery, and that he will draw close to God during this long journey of recovery.

He will be staying with us when he leaves the hospital, so would you also pray for strength for my husband John and I as we take care of him, and try to help him with his journey back to better health? We will all need God's help.

Thanks so much!

Here's a quote from Dr. Charles Stanley that has helped me this morning:

"It’s actually when life gets rough and rugged that the sweetness of God’s faithfulness makes itself real in your heart. As you walk through those storms in complete reliance on His strength, your trust in His character becomes part of who you are and strengthens from within."

I will pray that all goes well, Linda.
The thoughts in your quote are powerful and will help you find the strength you are going to need.

Momma,
We'll continue to pray for Uncle Danny. Let us know what we can do to help. Maybe we can bring over a meal or two to help when he is out of the hospital. Tell him we love him tons.
Love you.

Oh Linda, you know I'm praying. This is hard, isn't it? But, it reminds me even more that Christmas is not about the presents, the food, or even about the family get togethers. It's about the child born in a stable lying in a manger wrapped in swaddling cloth...the One who is called Emmanuel, Messiah, Prince of Peace. I'm so thankful for the One God sent to dwell among us and reveal His grace and truth to a world in darkness.

Will hold him in prayer. My father in law died suddenly this summer of a heart attack...he didn't listen to the doctor and never got any follow up tests done.

may the PEACE that surpasses all understanding be upon your entire family during today and the weeks ahead.

God is Jehovah Raffa! He is healer and I speak healing over your brother Dan and that he would have a speedy and quick recovery and grow to know the Lord in a special way.

Having watched my dad survive 6 heart stents in 3 years, I can't imagine the recovery of open heart surgery!! praying for Dan and the whole family. Praying that God gives much grace through the next few months as Dan adjusts to his new normal!

I'm praying for you all, Momma. He is a lucky man to have you and John taking care of him, because I know you will both give him so much love and take such good care of him!

Thank you so much for the pictures, they really help, He looks preety good. I am so glad his son and family were there, I'm sure that made him happy. We love our Uncle Danny so much, you tell him it's not time for him to go play with my Mom and Dad, he just needs to wait. I love you and Uncle John so much, you are such great people.
