Don't Dread The Wicked Winter Weather
These are my six words this Saturday. If you would like to play along and give us your six words that describe your life today, just click on the button above and link up your post on Cate's blog. It's fun!

The Wicked Winter Weather
The wicked winter weather has been with us for awhile
And even though it chills our bones…something about it makes us smile
Is it that the frozen landscape forces us to stay inside?
Where the fireplace is glowing and the family now abides?
Mother makes us hearty dishes and they warm us inside out
Mugs of tea or steaming coffee she pours gently from a spout
Children bundle up for playtime as they build a huge snowman
But their little, frozen, fingers bring them inside to warm again
Leaving puddles with their pile of boots, and mittens, scarves and coats
Mother gives them warming baths and dries their hair and on them dotes
Nothing like a cheerful mother coming up with things to do
When you can’t ride bikes or skateboards, and the choices seem so few
Movie time with bowls of popcorn, lights down low, and candles lit
Families gather on the sofa, little ones on laps they sit
Yet we call it “wicked” winter, weather… and so often we do complain
But the memories we are making…in our hearts they will remain
So even though the wind chill plummets… and the utilities rise sky high
Just remember we'll soon be kissing winter weather a sad good-bye
With the spring comes separation…as we all go separate ways
Keeping busy with activities we can’t do on winter days
Maybe God in His great wisdom knew we’d need those times together
So He planned to give us the gift of freezing, “wicked, winter weather”!!!
