WRITING

Writing is indeed a way
To express my longing soul
To pen my thoughts,…And share my words
To honor Jesus,…. is my goal

I often sit and ponder what my heart shall write today
Sometimes there is so very much... that it has to say
But other times it rests in Him,…. and in that quiet rest
I listen to His gentle voice, and I am truly blessed

But when I can pen my utmost feelings
Or unleash my many thoughts
Sweet release brings forth His healings
And remembrance of all He’s taught

I want to thank Him for His leading
I want to praise Him for the gift
For the freedom writing brings me
As it gives my heart a lift

And if it can help someone out there
Who is lost, or sad, or blue
Then I raise my hands and praise Him
If my writing can touch you

We must heed His love-filled promptings
And wisely use the things He gives
To remind those hurting people
That our Savior indeed lives

What can I write about Him...
That might stir another’s heart?
He’s loved you since before your birth….
And fashioned you right from the start!

He knows everything about you….
He knows the good... and all the bad
He smiles when you acknowledge Him
And when you don’t….It makes Him sad

Why not try this mode of writing?
Why not praise Him with your pen?
Why not give the gifts He gave you,
As a sacrifice to Him?

Linda,

I just remembered I never did answer your comment regarding the Twilight books.

The series is about vampires, but really the focus of the books is the relationship between the girl and the boy/vampire. It is really a story about forbidden love. It's not really graphic or anything like that, but I'm not sure about a 16 yr old reading it.

The reason so many women my age like the books is because the vampire in it is so romantic and so gentle and loving with the girl. It's very deep, and it's easy to get caught up in the emotions of the book. Women like it because they all wish their husbands would remember how to be like that again! It really does bring back those butterfly feelings we all felt in high school when a guy would say something sweet to us, or do something special for us. So, for a hormonal young girl to read that, I'm just not sure. She would love the books, I'm sure, but I don't know that I would want her reading something that would make her hormones start raging.

If you like a good love story, you would probably like the book. It's a book that is easy to relate to, no matter what your age. I would just say for you to definitely read the first one and see what you think about it before letting your granddaughter read it. It really is a good book, I thought.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you read it.

What a beautiful poem from a beautiful heart! Thank you for your comment on my blog this morning. I am so sorry for the tragic loss of your niece and her husband...but grateful for the comfort you received from the Comforter. Oh...how the Holy Spirit has ministered to me throughout my journey. I'm so grateful for His presence, His comfort, and His power. So grateful for His loving, gentle conviction.

As far as the Tuesdays Together...we would LOVE it if you would join us. The information is on DeeDee's post. (There is a link on my blog.) There is a reading plan that we are following and we read each week's scriptures and share what the Lord is speaking to us through His word that week. Sometimes, I also add scriptures that relate to that week's reading...if the Lord lays a certain verse on my heart that goes with the topic. But, I think for the most part, we are trying to study the same scriptures that week. There is more info. at DeeDee's site. Instructions and link to bible reading plan: http://deedee-warren.blogspot.com/2008/12/wednesdays-in-word.html I hope you join us.

Blessings,
Kelly

Hi, Linda! I just noticed that you mentioned "blessings on your new grandbaby" at the bottom of your comment on my blog. I hope that you meant that for DeeDee...as I am not ready for any grandbabies at my house! =) Gave me a laugh, though! I am praying for DeeDee's new addition today, and happy that she will become a grandma...it is exciting.
