What Is On Your Bucket List?

What Is On Your Bucket List?

What is on your bucket list
Of things you'd like to do?
Before you pass from this old world
And heaven welcomes you

Do you want to share your faith
And lead someone to God?
What keeps you from reaching out
The fear they'll think you're odd?

Have you reached your hand out
To someone who's in need?
Or does something always hold you back...
Something known as greed!

Sacrificial giving...
Can make you feel so good
Is it on your bucket list
To give the way you should?

What about forgiveness?
Are there people on your list?
Those who need forgiveness...
But you constantly resist

What about commitment?
To others and to Him...
Are you afraid to surrender?
Do you live life on a whim?

Do you find that you are faithful?
Or do you let things slide?
Sometimes the lack of faithfulness
Can be the result of pride

Do you practice kindness?
To your children and your mate?
Or does selfishness detour you...
Always making others wait

Would the things on your bucket list...
Show what's really in your heart?
Would God be disappointed with that list
Right from the start?

Why not crumple it...And toss it...
And start your list anew
And when you write your bucket list
Think of what God wants from you!

Or better yet...let Him write it
No bucket list could match His plans
He has thrills, and chills, and amazements
All gifts from His loving hands!

Hello, Linda! I know that your spring weather is as "hairy" as ours has been. I pray God's protection over you and your family.

What an inspirational poem! No bucket list here - as like you say, "He has thrills and chills and amazements - all gifts from His loving hands!" His list for me is far better than anything I could dream up myself! And, what I don't get to do or see just wasn't meant for me, lol!

WOW-timely...Last year I left my teaching job after 21 years with the plan to move to San Francisco, get a job in marketing for a nonprofit, and live a new life. It didn't work that way. No job. So I came back to my little house and have tried for a few months to figure out what my dream should be.

>>No bucket list could match His plans
He has thrills, and chills, and amazements<<

Those lines spoke volumes as I have been praying and feeling God's whisper to wait on Him.

Oh, I loved this one! I was listening to Charles Stanley the other day and he said that if we're still on earth, it's because there's still someone that the Lord is waiting for us to share the gospel with.....I loved that! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!! The girls and I just got back from a tea party :)

Lovely Linda, Hello!!!

Enjoy your writings. A Bucket List is on the back of my mind. Sometimes I get stumped.

I wrote out one that I need to reread.

Life is an adventure!

Sorry for the food allergies....shucks, but at least you know about them and don't get sick from these things these days because you know to stay away from them.

Having a fantastic week-end. God bless,
d

I would really like to visit Tuscany. But first and foremost, I would like to complete one short story and one novel that I'm completely content with before I die. I just ask for one...each.

Love this Momma Linda...great message. Some of the stuff on my bucket list I'm already doing. I would like to finish and publish my book and record a cd with my husand...but only if it is in His plan for us...and brings glory to Him and blesses others. =)

Whether it happens or not, what really matters is spending our time pleasing the Lord. Thanks for that reminder.

Love you!

I don't have an actual bucket list but I do have a list of things I'd like to do "someday" - maybe I should be tackling them with a bit more urgency.

Thanks for playing 6WS!

Great poem Mom. I've never really thought of things I want to do before I die. I'm not sure if I'm just so content, there's not much else I need to do... or perhaps I'm just too busy to stop and think about it. HA! I'm with you though, I want to do what God wants me to do... and even if I don't WANT to do what God wants me to do (like it would be a challenge), I still want to be able to do it.
Love,
Nettie
