Hairstyles

You might know some of these gals...and some you might not recognize. That's ok...I'm just searching for hairstyles for medium hair lengths and some of these came up. I think I prefer bangs...yet there weren't too many with bangs in the pictures that I looked at. And then again...not a one of them is old, chubby or wearing glasses! Tee Hee Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be a glamor girl...just trying to do the best with what I have! (:>)

I usually wear my hair really short, but a year ago I started growing it out...just because I wanted a different look. But it takes so long to get it long enough to do much with it, and so I have been tempted to just cut it short again.

I think it is really feminine to have longer hair. But on the other hand it takes so much longer to dry it and style it.

I look at these styles and think I like them...but of course they wouldn't look the same on a mature woman like me. I have been pulling it up and using clips and just curling the bangs and the stray tendrils... and that's pretty easy.

But if I just want to wear it down and casual it just never looks like I want it to look.

I used to have thick hair and if that were still the case I would LOVE to wear it like this! (And I like the color of the weaving here too.)

Do you all ever just wish you could do your hair different? I am so much wanting to either find a style that works for me...or I know I am going to cave and just get it cut off again. And that seems silly after going through more than a year with the growing out process only to cut it off! Ugh!

One friend says I should do it dark again...but I was getting so much gray I didn't want to have to color it once a month so I just got a lighter weave to blend in the gray. See all the gray in my dark hair?

And here it is really short! Like I have worn it for so many years.

This is me today as I head out to do my final Christmas shopping. See, nothing special...just kind of blah! (:>) I keep thinking I should just keep growing it a few more inches and then get some layers put in it. But then comes the question of color. Darker? (I have always heard that when you get older you shouldn't go darker because it can make you look harsh) Or more highlights? (But is going lighter much different than just letting it go gray naturally?) Sheesh...it's hard to be a girl! Ha (That is funny....a 60 year old calling herself a girl!)

I'm not really sure what I will do...and even when I do try something different it never looks like the pictures. Ha! Does this happen to you too?

Oooh, I like the idea of dark. Maybe with some pretty auburn highlights on top? And I REALLY like the second hair cut- something a little longer and flipped out at the ends. It would look great with your facial structure! I can't wait to see what you end up with. You are one hip and with it Grandma! :)

I think you are beautiful with lighter hair! And I like all of those hairstyles. I have really thick hair, too. And I've been itching for something new as well. My husband really likes long hair, but I was wanting to chop it off. Now, I want it longer and would love to do some soft curls like a lot of people are doing. But I don't know that I can pull it off. . . . Happy Hair Hunting!!

You look beautiful either way. I'm getting gray too, but I'm not ready for it yet. My Miss K said "Nana! If you let your hair go gray then you'll look like a Gramma with a young face!" ahhaha

Was that a compliment? I'm going to blog on it!

Love to you~

love all the pictures! I love that last one too with all the highlights. I wish my hair was thick enough to do that! it has thinned so much since having kids! I don't have any grey yet so mine just stays long and natural! :) I love yours both short and long... you are adorable!

I love all those styles too. I totally understand about wanting to go lighter so you don't have to color it so much. I am getting to that point now. I have to do mine almost every month too, because when it's dark, those gray hairs just really stick out. And my gray hairs for some reason stand straight up! Ugh! :D I think you look beautiful with short and long hair, so really it's just what you like best. I enjoy short hair more because I feel like it's quicker to do, but I do like the look of long hair. I am needing to cut mine too. I got a straight across bob last time and I really need some layers or something! And tonight guess what is on my agenda.....coloring my hair! Ha!

Great styles! It does take some patience to grow it out. I go thru cycles of growing it out and then cutting it. Long hair does take more work but it's also nice to change it up once in a while! If you're up to it I say go for it!

LOVE those styles! There are definitely a few of them that I am considering! I love my long hair but there are times when I just want to chop it off because, like you said, it's so much easier! I think whatever you decided will look great regardless!!

I work in a beauty shop. I don't cut hair, I work in the bill pay center that is there. I see such cute cuts all the time. I was listening to a conversation between the stylist and a lady in her chair the other day and the lady in the chair was saying that she didn't believe after a certain age that women should have longer hair styles. The stylist said that she had fixed longer cuts on women of "maturity" and that they all looked great. The lady in the chair was adamant! I too, think that older women (I'm there myself) can and do look great in longer hair styles. I say if you can carry it off, do it! For several years I grew my bangs out, and in the last couple of months I've had them cut back in. I change pretty often myself. I love long hair... and if I had thicker, healthier hair, that's the route I would go too! I say go for what you want! Maybe have a consult with someone who knows what they are doing and ask them what style would look best with your hair color and face shape. Good luck!

I like the darker color also. BUT I know how time consuming it is to continually have to cover up the gray! I have to do mine also about once a week or else! Hope you're having a nice weekend!

I have gotten to trust my stylist so much I let her do what she wants.
I think I look great after a haircut.
Today she cut it into a pixie cut.
Imagine a 49er with a pixie.
My hair is salt/pepper...more salt than pepper.
My hair used to be thick and now is much thinner and drier.

i like the shorter style - the picture you showed of the girl half way through the post... except i'd recommend some red / copper tones if you want to do color. i think that color would look great on you!

I think hair is the endless battle for women! I am never happy with mine and always trying to find just the right style! You are cute in all the pictures! I have never colored my hair, so have no experience or advice in that area. But, I do think layers always help! I have been trying to grow my hair out, too. It's taking a long time, because I keep getting frustrated with that in between stage and chopping it off again! I'm trying to stick it out this time! Hang in there, beautiful girl.

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to you!
