My Baby Girl Turns 40 Today!

Yes, 40 years ago today I was having a baby girl....and I named her Lonna LaVon. Words cannot convey what she means to me. I just love her so very much!!!!

She has given us four grandkids...and each in their own way they remind me of their Mom. They are all so full of life...and love. Lonna is a good mom and she works hard and loves them with all her heart! This picture of these four was taken many years ago. But I love those 4 monkey's in the tree!

She recently remarried and this picture is from that special day.

Lonna has such long pretty hair with natural wave and curl.

Here's a picture of her when her kiddos were little. She is such a loving mom.

This picture of her two girls when they were younger reminds me so much of Lonna when she was little.

Lonna and her sisters always have fun together. They call her Lonna Bonana!

Here she is with her cousin Sandy who was just here for a visit.

Lonna...You are loved!
Happy 40th Baby Girl!

Life is fun with Lonna! She's a stinker! (:>)

Our Harrison Is Turning Five Tomorrow!

This little guy is turning 5 years old tomorrow! Isn't he cute? This picture is from a 50's party we had one time. He was one cool looking dude!

Harrison adores his brothers!

Harry will try anything...especially if his brothers are doing it!

I love his big beautiful dark brown eyes!

He makes some crazy faces! He is such a little ham!

His Grandpa and I love him so much! When he was younger he used to call us "Grandpa and Grandpa!" His mom would always remind him to call me Grandma...but it took awhile!

His daddy is crazy about him...and the feeling is mutual

He can be a booger sometimes!

But oh what a darling boy he is!

He is a momma's boy...and he is the star of her blog!

Being the youngest in the family, he doesn't lack for attention and love! His sweet sisters have always loved him and helped "mother" him. He just melts their hearts!

These five years with Harrison have been amazing. Grandma is looking forward to the next five years...and then the next...and the next, etc.

Happy Birthday Harry!
Grandma loves you!

So, these are my six words for this Saturday...

A Visit With Our Nephews

A couple of weeks ago we made a trip to Lawton Oklahoma to see a couple of our nephews and their families. We took my brother and his lady friend with us and had a nice little road trip. I thought I would post a few pictures here on the blog. Most of my pictures didn't come out very good, but I wanted to at least post some so we can remember our time together.

My nephew Donovan and his wife Linda have two little boys and a sweet little girl. They were getting ready to move to Va. and we wanted to see them before they moved so far away.

Donovan is my brother Dan's son. They had fun together while Dan played the guitar they sang and goofed around. We all got a kick out of seeing them be silly together.

Our great nephew Briston and his wife Krystal are stationed there at Fort Sill too. Krystal is pregnant and they are excited to be expecting their first child. It is a girl and they are going to name her Aubrey. We live a few hours away from Lawton, but I hope to see them again while they are there.

Here are the pictures...I wish they had turned out better. The ones with the little boys didn't turn out, because they wouldn't stay still! Ha! Boys will be boys!

Hogeland Cousins Reunion

We had a fun 4th of July, because we spent it in my Husband's Hometown at a Cousins Reunion!

John and I headed out on Tuesday

We enjoyed our road trip

We got to the reunion early in the afternoon, and checked in. We only do this every 4 years, so it is fun to see the cousins and their families. Everyone talks and talks and tries to catch up. There is lots of food and fun.

Please watch the video below and see some of the parade that the cousins rode in, and our get together at the country club/golf course. We really enjoyed it all.
You can watch it full screen to see the groups better.

Lotsa Fun Was Had By All!

How was your 4th of July? I hope y'all had fun!
Love, Linda

We had a Costume Birthday Party Again!

Julia

And Silas

We had a fun birthday party for our granddaughter Julia who is turning 14 tomorrow...and for our grandson Silas who recently turned 11. Julia wanted to make it a costume party, so we did. Not everyone dressed up in a costume, but most of us did.

Some us girls were gypsies...and one preferred to be called a hippy. (:>)

These three were, Son-in-law Brad, who was Hank the Mechanic, granddaughter Bailey was a cowgirl, and my daughter Lisa came as an "unfinished project"!! She pinned a lot of her unfinished knitting projects on her. This reminded me that we are all unfinished projects, because God isn't finished with us yet! (:>)

My husband John was a goofy looking Olympic wannabe! He is always a good sport, and tries to make us laugh! (:>)

Luke Skywalker (Silas) had fun with his brother Jonas who was Captain America in his younger days...and his brother Harrison who was a character from Doctor Who.

Will came right after work, so he was in his Pizza Hut work clothes! He cooks, so he had a bit of flour and stuff on him, but we didn't care! (:>)

This is a picture of the two USA guys...one who was trying to be nerdy...and one who is more hip! Ha!

The Cookie Monster was there! (:>)Really it is granddaughter Adelynn Rose!

Cecily Kate was one of the "Doctor's" assistants. But she just looked cool as usual. She is such a sweetie!

And speaking of sweet kids...

Brandon was here...and so was his sister Alex...They are our new family members through our daughter Lonna's recent marriage...and we love them. They are great kids!

Of course we had presents...and lots of food, and brownies and ice cream too, so a good time was had by all. (:>) We were missing our grandson Caleb who had gone fishing with a friend, and our son-in-law Kyle who stayed home with grandson Jared to finish some flooring they were putting in their laundry room, because their house is being sold.

There are lots more pictures, but these give you the idea of what goes on at our family gatherings!

I hope y'all will have a safe 4th of July. I am thankful for our freedoms...and I am praying for America!

God Bless America!
