There's A Song In My Heart

Early in the morning before I start my day
I wake up with a song, and it makes me want to pray

Do you have songs in your heart that make you want to sing?
Go ahead and do it,…make music for our King!

Sometimes it’s just a chorus or just a line or two
Of a favorite Hymn or Praise Song we sing on Sunday too

No matter where it came from, it’s right there in my heart
Wanting me to sing it before my morning starts

I let my lips proclaim Him and the notes just start to fly
Sometimes the words are moving, and make me want to cry

Sometimes they’re bright and cheery
Sometimes they’re kind of sad

But the message they contain will make my Savior glad
Glad that I am singing before the day can start, praising my Dear Savior,…singing in my heart

If to you this doesn’t happen,…stop and ponder,…reason why
Don’t you love Him and adore Him?…Let your mouth sing your heart’s cry

As soon as eyes are open,…thank Him for the brand new day
Sing a song of praise and worship Him in this unusual way

Don’t wait for Sunday’s service to express those feelings deep
Just start a morning habit and soon it’s yours to keep

My husband does it also,…wakes with a song in heart
And then he shares it with me and we let the praises start

It’s just something that He gives us,…you can have the blessing too
Wake up with a song in your heart and let the praise flow forth from you!

I love reading your poems. I like writing them but don't sit down and get them out often.

I love it!! I do actually wake up almost every day singing songs of praise in my head. It's just an automatic, unconscious thing that happens. Sometimes, it won't even be a song I heard recently. And usually throughout the day, I'm constantly humming and singing songs. The other day, Lily was singing one of my songs. Ha! And on the rare occasion that I get to go somewhere in the car by myself, well that is my time to really sing! LOL! I just love music so much! I love this poem alot!

Linda,
What an awesome poem! You are so right too about not waiting until Sunday to praise Him! He is good and is so worthy of our praise!

What a sweet poem, Linda! Thanks for sharing your heart.

Thanks so much for leaving such kind comments about "Making the Bed." Isn't is a wonderful feeling to make the bed with your husband? Kind of "silly"....it's such a simple thing.

I noticed your granddaughter's comment. How absolutely BEAUTIFUL to have such a Godly grandmother. What a legacy of faith to have.

So glad that you stopped by.

Blessings!

Great poem...and Yes, I do often wake up with a song in my heart. During prayer times, songs will sort of float up and out, too. Songs of praise and worship...crying out songs...all kinds. What a gift it is to be able to sing to our King.

Love to you...
