Ten Things About Me!
My daughter Lynnette from Dancing Barefoot has asked us to sit on her porch with her and share ten interesting things about ourselves. So I will start and then you can click on the button above and add your own. Some of you already know these things of course,...but there are new visitors on the porch today so I will say them again for their benefit. Here goes:
1)They say it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks,....yet at 58 this old dog has started Facebooking and Blogging,...and I love it!
2)I like to write poetry and when it just comes to me in the mornings when I wake up, I just come in here and type out what is on my heart and in my mind. I hardly have to think about it. It may not be all that good, but it is fun!
3)One of my favorite parts of the day is when my husband and I have devotions together. And then we pray together for our love ones and their needs in their lives.
4)I am a thin person trapped in a "fluffy" person's body! Hope to do something about that soon. ((smile))
5)I love babies and children and I think they are one of God's greatest blessings. Sometimes I am sad that old people can't have babies,...I would love it,...but I wouldn't have the energy to raise one! ((smile))
6)I have the most wonderful husband who has given me so much love and happiness in the 33 years that we have been married. He has been a Christian now for nearly 15 years. I prayed for his salvation for 15 years and God answered my prayers. Miracles do happen. These last 15 years have been the best, with Christ in our marriage!
7) I was raised in church by a lovely Christian mother. However, I got away from church as an adult for 12 years, but then I gave my life over to Jesus in 1979 and He has been with me ever since. By His Grace I am saved! His mercies are new every morning. Great is His Faithfulness. Do you know Jesus?
8)I love to decorate my house. My sweet husband bought me a new house two years ago and it has been fun to put it together and make it our home. We love to watch HGTV and all of the decorating shows together,...especially House Hunters,...and the International House Hunters too. It is fun to see what houses go for in other countries.
9)Over the years we have spent lots of time in antique stores and malls and we have fun treasure hunting together as a past time. A lot of shops and malls have closed because of the economy and also because people now buy things on ebay.
10)I love my God, my husband, my three daughters, their spouses, my 14 grandchildren, (three of them are in heaven), my extended family and in-laws. I love my long time friends Myrna and Toni and Denise, who have been there for me through sad and happy times. I love my church family and friends at Calvary. And of course my Facebook friends and all of you blogging friends!
Not so fascinating,...but there are ten things that popped into my mind. I hope you will read my profile and find out more about me and perhaps become a follower, because it is always more fun to write things when you know your friends are reading them, and sharing in your life. Now it is your turn, join in so I can be your follower too.

That was a great list. I was cracking up about you being a thin person trapped in a fluffy body. So am I. LOL
Wish I could write poetry.
Hello, my friend...it's so good to visit with you on Lynnette's "porch"!! I, too am a thin person trapped in a fluffy person's body. Sigh...I need to work on that! I loved your list...just posted mine yesterday. I'm so glad to have met you in blog world and on facebook, too. I know what you mean about an old dog learning new tricks...I still can't (and don't want to) get on board with the texting!!!!
Love to you...
You have such a beautiful spirit. I am blessed to "know" you thru blogging. I'm also a thin person trapped in a fluffy body...lol
I think we are all fluffy people that just need to learn to embrace it!!! (did that sound convincing...since I too am trapped in this fluffy body?!)
And...who says you are OLD!!! you are amazingly young and I look forward to many more years with you around here!! What would I do without your super sweet spirit and your jewels of wisdom!
Love you,
Nancy

Well, I know all about you, but I still enjoy reading what you write. :)
Jumping from porch to porch for a bit.
Love you.
Lynnette
Enjoyed your lovely list and learning more about you.
What a beautiful sweet spirit you have.
~ Blessings to you my dear friend.
I finally figured it out, you look a little like my Aunt Priscilla! I kept looking at your picture wondering how do I know her. :)
I enjoyed your post learning more about you.
Paula
LOL! I am so trapped inside this fluffy body too! Ha!! Hope you had a great weekend!
I enjoyed reading your list! Congrats on 33 years of marriage! My hubby and I just celebrate our first anniversary in June. It's amazing how wonderful your relationship is when God is in it too!
Have a great evening!
Good Morning sweet friend...thanks for your comments...always encouraging. You are one of my favorite blog-friends, too! I wanted to share that actually the best part of many of the recent Sufficient Grace fundraisers is that they were not my idea at all. God has been laying it on the hearts of others to step up and do these generous things. The golf outing is the only one that has been my idea...and I had decided not to continue doing that every year since others are starting to host events. And then...someone approached me about hosting the event for us from now on. God has been answering our prayers in so many ways. The fundraising has never been my favorite part of ministry...and now, He is sending others who have it on their hearts to do that...and freeing me to focus more on the "ministering". I love to see God use people from the body of Christ in various ways to fulfill His purposes. I am always blessed (and fired-up excited) to see someone willing to serve and use their gifts to glorify Him. Anyway...I just wanted to clarify that the Ride 4 Grace and many other recent Sufficient Grace events were not my idea at all...but came from the willing, generous hearts of others. Our friend Dave planned, hosted, and ran all aspects of the motorcycle event. I just came to share about our ministry, hug my Holly, and say a prayer to send them off. I love that God's part is always bigger than our part, don't you?
Sorry for the long comment...
Love to you today...
Also a thin person trapped in a not-thin body! :)
We enjoy DIY & HGTV. I enjoy watching House Hunters. I find it interesting to see different houses & the things folks are wanting. A friend told me it is "just entertainment" which i suppose is true, but the folks' different personalities are apparent & i find it interesting the things folks use as a priority.
Some of them i just don't understand, but then that is life & individual differences.
Thanks for visiting me & commenting. :)
Hi Linda, I loved your poem. When God is the center of your life, EVERYTHING is better, not just marriage but everything. I've recently gone through some very difficult times and knowing I'm not alone and trusting the Lord with every aspect of my life has given me more peace than I could have imagined. I thank God for leading me to your blog.
I'm stopping by a little late but better late than never, right? I've recently gotten into facebooking and blogging too. I think I'm addicted ! ahhh! :)
I like antique shops too. Could spend all day in them.
Linda- I visited your blog earlier and left a message on your Wednesday's Walk. But then I noticed your comment on the other Lynette's blog who was celebrating 14 years of marriage. I hadn't realized you were the Lynnette of Dancing Barefoot's mother. But the other thing that caught my eye was that you prayed for your husband for 15 years and God answered your prayer!!!! That gives me such hope as I've been praying for 15 years too.
I think we have much in common as I'm in the same age range (56) but don't tell. LOL. And I do Facebook, blogging and all things social media. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks, right?
Anyway, I think I need to get to know you better. So glad I stumbled on your comment. Or maybe it was orchestrated by the Lord. I think I needed to hear a success story if you know what I mean. Thanks for that.
Blessings,
Debbie
