Girl Talk

Girlfriends together in a friendly gathering are like lovely roses all gathered into a bouquet!

Last night there was a gathering of girlfriends in the room
We each took times at talking, and laughter chased the gloom

With all the silly stories we laughed until we cried
Some of them so funny we very nearly died!!!

Some we’d heard beforehand, but we laughed at them anew
I guess that’s just good etiquette, and just what girlfriends do

Sharing little secrets, but not the serious kind
We giggled and we snickered, we all were past our prime

We talked about the weight that we all needed to lose
But we all agreed it was a game you really had to choose

We said we were not ready for that game yet to begin
You have to gear up mentally if you’re really gonna win

We passed that subject quickly and went on to laugh some more
Remembering past happenings and sharing a repoire

It was nice to leave the burdens and the problems for awhile
And just to let the girl talk flow, and let our faces smile

Life can get so serious, and hard from day to day
It’s nice to have some girl talk and just take the time to play

I’d like to thank our “hostess with the most-est” cuz it’s true
It’s nicer to share “girl talk” than to stay home feeling blue!

Hi Linda!
What a sweet poem. You are a blessed lady to have girlfriends to laugh with! Laughter is so great for our souls. Like a good medicine.

You are a lovely rose in the garden of life. Roses are such a beautiful and delicate flower and they usually smell superb.

Now what color of rose are you? Pink, yellow, orange, etc. Did you think I'd let you off so easy??? haha

Wanted to get back to you about that little dress my granddaughter was wearing in that series of pics I took of her where most of the pics are blurry. I'm not sure the dress is old or not. I keep looking at it and think it is, but then I really don't know. I got it at a shop in Paxico and they sell old mixed in with new. The idea of it being made from a pillow case could be done. That trim does look like some cases I've seen.

Blessings to you,
d

Linda...as always, thanks so much for your sweet comment! As you can tell, I'm a bit behind on blog reading!

I love your picture of the roses! So beautiful. Your girls night sounds like it was great. I really don't have a lot of close in real life friends, but I wish I did so that I could have a get together like you did.

I wish I could find friends that were also believers, but it's been pretty tough. I've been struggling with not feeling like the church we've been going to is really "the one." I would love to meet some ladies from church to have some friends that shared in the same beliefs that I have.

Maybe you can keep my in your prayers that the Lord will help me in that area! I would so appreciate it. Sometimes it gets pretty lonely! Love ya and thanks for always bringing a smile to my face!
